My guy really out-did himself this time–I don’t know if you can tell scale from that picture, but this bouquet of flowers is *enormous*. And so pretty! Definitely a wonderful start to my birthday! Along with the flowers were some chocolates, and a new friend for Rob-Bear:
Holding hands like me and my guy. Yes, I […]
I’ve had a busy couple of weeks lately, and haven’t been updating the blog perhaps as much as I should have been. I baked these cookies a few weeks ago. One night I just had a craving–I want cookies, I thought to myself. I had all the ingredients for these, so I made them!
The recipe […]

If you only come here for cupcakes and/or knitted items, you can probably just keep on moving for once =)
A couple of quick little legal tidbits–
As regular readers will know, I attended a California Bar Association conference last month on Entertainment & the Media. One of the panels there was on law and virtual worlds. […]

Time for my first TWD! (If you’re confused, look back about two posts). This week’s selection was the Mixed Berry Cobbler, found on pp. 416-17 of the book. The recipe was chosen by Beth, of Our Sweet Life. You can find a copy of the recipe on her site.

Last night, Alice and I went out to celebrate her birthday. We had dinner at a tasty Japanese restaurant (Naomi, for those of you in the area–my favorite sushi place), and then afterwards we went to Coldstone Creamery for dessert. Even though it was really cold out (don’t laugh, midwesterners), the ice cream tasted so […]

Ever the budding avant-garde filmmaker, you can check out his other videos from his youtube profile (the one in the following link), but here’s my favorite of them–

Last week I made an orange spice cake. It was really really good. I’ll post the recipe soon so you can try it yourself!
I love the technique of sprinkling the top with sugar to give it a crispy sugar crust. The recipe didn’t call for it, but I did it anyway!
See the little spiceys–
If I […]

Hopefully this weekend I’ll get around to posting the rest of the pictures and talk about last weekend in Maui (which was awesome!). Until then, a little preview–snorkeling pics! Karen and I went with her friend Don to Honalua Bay (not sure if that’s spelled right). There was some absolutely gorgeous scenery […]

Since the 4th of July unfortunately falls on a Wednesday this year, leaving no clear holiday weekend, Alice and Jeff had a barbeque at their place this weekend, pre-4th. The party was also celebrating the fact that they acquired a Nintendo Wii. The food they cooked was great, including some chicken wings Alice made that […]

I made it! At times I thought I might not, lol. My group wanted to run a lot more than I did, but I tried my best to keep up! The whole experience was really cool. It started with a very posh hotel (The Mandarin Oriental), moved on to […]
