Cupcake Hero: Melon

I went back and forth on whether I was going to compete in this month’s Cupcake Hero. The theme ingredient is melon, and although I love melons of all kinds, I thought it would probably be a difficult challenge to pull off, because the flavour of melons does not pop when it’s cooked with. […]

Beverly Hills, 90210

I’ll start with the most exciting part of the trip:

I met Stan Lee!  Yay!  So for a bit of background, I flew down to LA for a little over a day to go to the California Bar IP Section’s conference on Entertainment & Media law.  The conference itself was interesting, and I got to see […]

TWD: Berry Cobbler

Time for my first TWD! (If you’re confused, look back about two posts). This week’s selection was the Mixed Berry Cobbler, found on pp. 416-17 of the book. The recipe was chosen by Beth, of Our Sweet Life. You can find a copy of the recipe on her site.
I was very […]

Baby Octopus

Here is my first ever crochet project–a cute little amigurumi octopus!  He likes ice cream cones, holding hands, and long walks on the beach.  He also likes kitties.  Bubba is not amused.

Tuesdays with Dorie

I just got an amazing new cookbook, Baking, From My Home to Yours, by Dorie Greenspan. Pretty much every recipe in this book looks like something I want to make. So it’s no wonder that a large group of food bloggers are currently working their way through the book, one recipe a week, […]

True Love Socks

Here it is–my first knitting design!  I love pink.  I love hearts.  So I started out wanting to make socks with hearts on them, and the rest just sort of followed.  This was my first time working with some of the Sundara sock yarn I’ve bought, and I believe that it may be my new […]

Banananana-y goodness

With the last pie not even eaten yet, I went ahead and made more cupcakes. But only a small batch (I halved the recipe to make what turned out to be 8 as I filled them)! I decided to take a break from inventing my own recipes for just a bit, and try […]

i like pies, too!

One of the reasons I picked up the blueberries from the farmer’s market was because I saw these on another baking site and was dying to make them. They’re like the Hostess fruit pies you get from the grocery store, only homemade!

I originally got this recipe here.
Blueberry Mini Pies: (makes 5-8 depending on size)
Dough:

Farmer’s Market

I went over to the Palo Alto Farmer’s Market today–picked up all this lovely fruit, beans, and cheese from the Cowgirl Creamery.  Yummy!  I’m making blueberry mini-pies this afteroon!

Gotta love it when video games, lawyers, and my favorite comics intersect The line from the final panel made me lol (click to go to original site:
